“Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.”
— John 21:25 (ESV)

This was the first devotion of my own that I read this morning. Wow! These words really aren’t ones that I think of often, but they did two things to me this morning. First, they made me realize again how powerful the words are that God did place in the Scriptures. Second, and you might laugh, but what is the next best thing that didn’t quite make “the list”? What was the criteria God used for His book? True, that’s my human need to qualify and quantify things, but I am curious.

Since the desire of my heart is to glorify God, then my life should overflow with the things that I have done, am doing, and will do. That is a real sobering thought when I stop and think about it. It is not a “the one with the most deeds loves God more” type deal either. It is but a natural outcome of “singing in the light” of God’s glory. The rocks would praise Him if they could… what should I be doing?
