Search for Me (Big “M”)

“And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”
–Jeremiah 29:13

Thank you all for your prayers for my dad. Here is sort of the “reader’s digest” version.  Last week when my dad left to go to his mother’s funeral in Kentucky and all that surrounded that, he was leaving Canada without a current work visa to get back into there to work. (Long story). He was taking a big step into the unknown, as he was not told whether the paperwork would be done to allow him back into Canada to continue working.

God, through His grace and mercy, expedited the processes and I think it was Monday dad received word that his work visa has been renewed. Wow!

Yesterday I had a song on my mind all day and this morning it hit me maybe why it was there. The song is ‘You’re Beautiful’ by Phil Wickham. Not that I question God’s beauty, but each day is an opportunity to see God’s beauty revealed. The way He worked on dad’s visa situation, and dad’s boldness to risk, was to me very beautiful.

This morning I’m also reminded of my friend Jonathan Schmidt. Last week we had him over for dinner and he was telling me different parts of his life story and how God has worked in his life. He was telling me a particular part and something he said struck me to the core right then and still does. My paraphrase of what he said is: “I was presented with two choices, and I chose the one that was more risky. The one that required more faith in God.” WOW!

My dad and Jonathan remind me this morning that in trusting God I have untold opportunity for God’s beauty revealed.

What will I risk today for Him?

In His service,
Keith
