Our Wonder Room

Everything?

Last night my cell phone rang. It was after 9:00 and here at the Turley house those calls usually don’t get answered. But after the ringing stopped I got up to turn off the silly phone just in case some knuckle head tried to call me again. My phone told me it was the Bellingham School District automated system that had called. Weird. The District is off this week for Spring break, so why would it be calling me? Needless to say I pondered that and wondered if I perhaps missed a future sub job. Dang. But my thinking didn’t stop there…

My rest, and hopefully my ending place in most thought processes is that God has a plan. In having a plan, His plan, all things happen for a reason. Whatever the call was that I missed, He still has plan. Living in His Spirit, the glass is never half full, or half empty. If I am walking in God’s Spirit, with His Spirit, the glass is always FULL. This doesn’t mean I am passive, complacent or indifferent. It means I am less worried… (knock on wood). Maybe Law said it better this morning as I read one of my devotions:

“He that seeks God in everything is sure to find God in everything. When we thus live wholly unto God, God is wholly ours and we are then happy in all the happiness of God; for by uniting with Him in heart, and will, and spirit, we are united to all that He is and has in Himself. This is the purity and perfection of life that we pray for in the Lord’s Prayer, that God’s kingdom may come and His will be done in us, as it is in Heaven. And this we may be sure is not only necessary, but attainable by us, or our Savior would not have made it a part of our daily prayer.”
… William Law (1686-1761)
