“The supreme task of the church is the evangelization of the world. No one has the right to hear the gospel twice until everyone has had an opportunity to hear it at least once.”
– J. Oswald Smith
Interesting words. My mind keeps circling the logic of sharing once and moving on. And circling. Then I come back to Jesus. Rights seem to fall short of His grace and mercy. The shepherd continually looks out for his sheep, the gardener over his vines. As many of us know from life, telling someone something once usually doesn’t work. Especially when were talking about eternal salvation. Perhaps that is why God gifted us with patience. Certainly He trims the vine, but He allows the branches time to see whether they will bear fruit.
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” – John 15:1-2
