Strength for Your Journey

“I wish for strength-–
To overcome that which weighs me down,
As well as to succomb to that to which I should.”
–Keith Turley

Wherever You AreBeen awake since about 2:30am this morning. At about 3:00 I finally decided I couldn’t stand being in bed trying to go to sleep. Usually when this happens I find myself reading, but this morning I found myself breathing new life into a book concept that I realize I hadn’t touched since July 2011. Where do the days go?

So, this morning I’m sharing not a quote or inspiration from someone else, but one of my own, from my yet-to-be-published book. This one resonated with me this morning, and met me where I often find myself…thinking about what I could be, should be doing. Praying about what God would have me do.

It can be overwhelming at times. So many possibilities that I get caught in the preverbal “paralysis of analysis” as one of my friends calls it. Most time it is not even the possibilities, but the realities of the moment that paralyze me. I know that at all times God is right there saying, “come on, grab My hand, and let’s take the first step.” I just don’t hear Him at all times.

God wants for each of us an abundant life, but not to feel weighed down by what could be or even by what is. Some times I can hear God saying, “Keith, you and Me. Right here. Let’s do this.” Things seem not quite as daunting knowing God is with me.

May the Lord bless you today with strength for your journey.

“But those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.”
Isaiah 40:31
