Our Wonder Room

Oranges

“You can sometimes count every orange on a tree but never all the trees in a single orange.”
-A.K. Ramanujan, poet (1929-1993)

As you well know, one never knows where I will draw my connections. When I read the words above I thought of the movie ‘Pay It Forward’. You and I can make it a point to do good works, as we are appointed by God to do, but we will never truly know the fruits of those good works. I can choose to find disappointment at the end of the day by reflecting, “I only said/did one nice thing today.” OR, I can rejoice in knowing the unlimited potential God has in that one act.

Obviously I don’t think it is God’s will or desire that we keep track of our good works (setting goals), but for my pea brain that often works. I know it’s been said many different ways, but isn’t there a saying that goes something like, “Aim for the stars, you just might hit the moon”?

Ephesians 2:10 —
“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
