When I first read this I went “hmmm”. What if I had all the money in the world and prayed? What if I was Spiderman or Superman and I prayed? What if I was Jesus and I prayed? No matter who I plug in there, no matter what power or achievement or ability I assume, an attitude of prayer requires the desire for help or assistance. I think “prayer” is short for “I can’t do this alone.” Conversely, when I don’t pray about something it means I can do it alone. Now that sounds scary. I think I want the Spirit with me at all times and in all endeavors. Ahhh, pray without ceasing.
