“The secret of life is that all we have and are is a gift of grace to be shared.”
–Lloyd John Ogilvie
Imagine if God hadn’t shared His grace? He shared what He had, who He is, with His creation. He wanted others to partake in His goodness. Granted, what He shared was not properly used, and yes He knew it would be squandered, but He shared it anyway.
How many times do I hold back because I have doubt or concern that what I share will be wasted or be used other than as how I deem it should be? Thinking that the dollar I give to the person on the street might go to something other than food or clothing? Or thinking that words I have will be interpreted the wrong way? Or my actions misconstrued? Surely I know best!
“Then the Lord said to him, ‘Now then, you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness. You foolish people! Did not the one who made the outside make the inside also? But now as for what is inside you—be generous to the poor, and everything will be clean for you.'”
— Luke 11:39-41, NIV
I am greedy. I am wicked. I am foolish. But I am also His. By His grace might I share more. Live more. What does that look like? Well, the day is yet to unfold.
In His service,
Keith
