“God wants to speak into areas of your life you have never even considered. He wants to give you words and wisdom you didn’t think were possible. He desires to do exceedingly more than you can hope or expect.”
–Margaret Feinberg
Sometimes I try to have a conversation with God and it seems like it is a one way conversation. It does not matter whether what I have to offer up to Him is a praise or a need, it seems like it is just me there. That is me, though, looking for God in that expected place, that expected time, in an expected way. What I truly LOVE about our God is He seeks us out. I can be bopping along through the day and then BOOM, a God moment. He doesn’t tug quaintly on my sleeve asking if I have a moment. Right. I shudder to imagine how many times I have ignored those tugs. But I don’t think He screams either. Okay, maybe He does scream… in His own way. For that I am thankful.
Feiberg’s words remind me of part of a song from a few years back by Phillips, Craig and Dean, ‘Friend of God.’ Part of the song goes like this –
“Is it true that You are thinking of me?
How You love me
It’s amazing, so amazing, it’s amazing”
God is ALWAYS thinking about each of us. It isn’t like He stops thinking about you in order to think about me. There is no way I can fathom that, but that doesn’t make it not possible. If God is always thinking about me, then He is also going to be trying to break into my world. When I am at a place where I think I am so alone, or so hurt, or so fearful, God will seek me out. He is my FRIEND.
John 15:15 – “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. “
