Our Wonder Room

No Place Like Home

This morning I was all set to utter those immortal words from Dorothy, “there’s no place like home!” Then I started reading my devotions, just in case something along those lines but a lot more inspirational appeared. Well, that didn’t happen. Instead, the words that jumped out at me are these:

“The best place any Christian can ever be in is to be totally destitute and totally dependant upon God, and know it.”
– Alan Redpath

Maybe it true that there is no place like home, but maybe this physical building and the things in this home I am sitting in right now are here to strengthen me in some small way so that I may do God’s work. While having the comforts this house provides does not move me toward being destitute, it provides a resting place from the storm.

Oh, I apologize to you all for my inconsistency this last week and a half. Lori and I were out of town and I didn’t have my “list” on my laptop so I just improvised with what I had… which means I didn’t have everyone’s email. I’ll be better prepared next time. But boy, wireless internet access is now an important criteria in choosing hotel accommodations.
