Our Wonder Room

His Name: Living Water

Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”
John 4:10

How does that cliche go? “You don’t know what you’re asking for” or something like that. I magine the questions I would NOT ask if I knew the answer(s). Put another way, I would live my life differently if I knew even twenty four hours into the future. That’s what came to my mind first.

For me, asking questions OUTLOUD is not easy. So my conversations with God are a lot more about me listening than me asking questions. What do I ask God for? A job so that I can pay my bills? Enough food to fill my belly? More skill to beat my opponent at racquetball? Or do I ask Him how I can be a better servant? Ask Him to reveal the sin in my life? Those are the questions I should be asking…the ones with eternal answers. I want the Living Water, not just for myself, but for those I encounter daily, in word and in deed.
