“We take our colors, chameleon-like, from each other.”
-Sebastien-Roch-Nicolas de Chamfort, writer (1741-1794)
Sometimes it is simple analogies that hit me. I liked the one above that I read this morning. Though I would wager that it probably was not originally intended to be taken spiritually, it really got me thinking how much responsibility I have as God’s child. To each person I encounter I am a reflection of God. Whether good or bad, I am going to leave some “color” on their life. It could be a really small dab, or a BIG paint roller sized mark. It is their choice, but my responsibility to be a color they want to take on as one of their own.
God lives in each of us, uniquely. We should be walking around trying to see how many colors we can get. Only as we experience others will we gain a more complete picture of who He is.
Caution: Seek God’s wisdom in the colors you take on.
