Shirt - Yank The Plank

morning I was on my way on errands I found myself at an intersection. Since there was a car coming from the left, and I was turning right I found myself waiting to see if the car was going to go straight or turn right, onto the road that I was on. Being that I was in a bit of a hurry I wanted to go but since the car didn’t signal I waited. Then the car turned right and I found myself muttering that if she (as she smiled and waved as she drove by) had signaled then I could have turned and been on my way. Do you know how many seconds that would have saved me? Then, as I sat there processing all that, I realized that I didn’t have my turn signal on.

I share all that because it’s funny to me how many times I think to tell someone else to do something and then find that I myself don’t even do it. As I sat at the intersection this morning my mind found itself recalling these words –

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.'”
— Matthew 7:3-5 (NIV)

Any time I find myself wanting to find fault in others, may I first honestly stop and look for those very faults in my own life.

On a much happier note, I’ve now updated my blog at www.ourwonderroom.com to a fresh new look in order to coincide with my new book There Has To Be More Than This. It has been a very exciting week as I got the last proof on the book done and approved and all that stuff. Now There Has To Be More Than This is now orderable (that should be a word) on my web site and on Amazon. Whoa, me on Amazon? Thanks to all of you for your prayers and encouragement. I’ll keep you updated.

ps… I should also mention periodically that there is content on my blog that doesn’t get into my emails. Things like videos and links to music and photos that catch my eye as I wonder. Just little something extras I can do on the blog.

Hope you all on the giving or receiving end of a wonderful Mother’s Day.

And, yes, you can but that shirt on Zazzle.com.
