“If all things are possible with God, then all things are possible to him who believes in Him.”
–Corrie Ten Boom
There is something about making that statement that is just plain scary. Internalizing it means I have no excuse for sitting on my duff waiting for other things to happen. After all, what things are out there that God isn’t waiting for someone else to do, He is waiting on me? You know, I think God probably originated the phrase “If you want anything done you’ve got to do it yourself” because He knows He can’t rely on me. Yet, I know He is patience and trusting that I will embrace not only His Spirit, but the Spirit’s desire to do the impossible.
I’m pretty sure it’s not my inborn nature though look for the “impossible” and think I can do that. One of the definitions I came across this morning for impossible said “unthinkable”. I’m sure that’s where God keeps kicking me. He knows I have the faith (usually), He just desires for me to think outside the box. Outside my normal thoughts? Me? Think of the impossible? It may easy be for others, but not for me. And I’m a designer? Well, I’m the guy behind the scenes helping my clients accomplish the impossible after they’ve told me what they’ve thought of as unthinkable, impossible. I’m right there, thinking and acting and praying in faith once the vision is identified, even if its fuzzy. It’s the “how do we do it” that gets me off my duff.
How about you? Do you dream the impossible, or do you come along side with the faith needed to do the impossible? Or both?
Matthew 17:20 —
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
