The Cat Died Nobly

“Curiosity is the very basis of education and if you tell me that curiosity killed the cat, I say only the cat died nobly.”
–Arnold Edinborough

Yesterday morning I had arranged a meeting with someone that I wanted to get to know better (thank you, Mike, I was so blessed). As I was walking into the Starbucks we were going to meet at I got to thinking about questions I might want to ask. And in that instant I remembered something a first grader said to me the day before in a classroom I volunteer in. He said to me, “you ask a lot of questions.” First graders are more observant than I give them credit for at times.

I do ask more questions than I give myself credit for. Scary as that would sound to that first grader, must stay inside my head. I think it is from my innate desire to know more than what is on the surface of something or someone or a situation. My search isn’t always for something Godly or inspirational, but simple curiosity.

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
–Matthew 6:33
