“A child on a farm sees a plane fly overhead and dreams of a faraway place. A traveler on the plane sees the farmhouse…and dreams of home.”
–Carl Burns
Not sure how to capture in words what picturing that scene brings, but it is a calming scene in my mind. And sometimes amidst the craziness of my day that is all I need, to catch a glimpse of another place and time. Hope.
Within each of us that calls Christ our Lord and Savior there is a strong and unquenchable thirst for a better place. A dream. A home. When I stop and envision that faraway place, it often re-energizes me towards the work and opportunities I have here on earth. So much to do. “Do” isn’t even the right word because that can seem imposing from an external source. I’m talking the type of “do” that is from Ephesians 2:10. The type that is because I want to, not because I have to.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
