“Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces up, snow is exhilarating; there is no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.”
— John Ruskin
These words seem familiar to me and so maybe I’ve read and shared them with you. Doesn’t mean they hit me the same way today as that possible day in the past. At any rate, what caught my attention this morning was to take Ruskin’s words and extend them. Extend them to people. Every one with whom I cross paths with is a different kind of God’s most cherished creation.
What if I looked at those people who challenge me as “refreshing” or “exhilarating”? If I change my paradigm, the challenging people should be sought after because they have perhaps provide more of an opportunity to encourage me to grow in my reliance on God. To experience His fullness. Wait, I’m filing that under “be careful what you ask for”. It was merely an observation, not a request… at this time. But maybe it should be.
May your day be “delicious” today in a new way.
Genesis 1:31 – “God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.”
