Your Happy

“Their happy is too loud.”
– Spoke by Rosie in ‘We Bought a Zoo’

On Friday night Lori and I watched ‘We Bought a Zoo.’ One of the things that has stuck with me is that line above, uttered by Rosie early in the movie.

It is so easy for me to get bogged down in the “stuff” of the moment or of the day and loose sight of the many reasons I have to be happy. As a follower of Christ I have been given so much for which to be grateful, and I am looking forward to an INCREDIBLE eternity. My happy should be loud. Borrowing and altering those words, “they will know we are Christians by our happy.”

Listent to these words…

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
—John 8:12 (NIV)

You and I have been given THE most incredible gift. Let that Light shine through us, through our happy. Let the fruit of the Spirit be our loud happy – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. ”
– Galatians 5:22-23

And if that’s the kind of happy that gets too loud, then it might just be because someone else isn’t accustomed to the joyful noise.
