Our Wonder Room

Halfway

Over the weekend I was messing around in iTunes and rediscovered PodCasts that I can download to my iPhone. Not sure how many of you have listed to Alistair Begg, but I have found his messages very enlightening as I listed to them on the radio. He also has a website: http://www.truthforlife.org.

Anyway, I was listening to a recent message entitled, “Gideon: God’s Choice”. One of the things that jumped out at me this morning as God’s thinning of Gideon’s army. In particular, Begg pointed out how God let those who were “halfway” walk away from Gideon. Those who were even slightly fearful, those who were a bit unsure of victory, those who had their minds elsewhere… God had no place for them in His battle.

I don’t know about you, but at best I would have been one of those who was standing in the middle looking first at those leaving, and then at those staying. What to do? Come on! The odds were crazy!

What is that cliché: “He who hesitates is lost”?

I have seen God do amazing things in my life because I trusted in Him. Each day I need to continually grasp onto what God has done, in order that I might climb higher towards what God will do if I look towards Him.
