“Christ has no body on earth now but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours. Yours are the eyes through which to look out Christ’s compassion to the world. Yours are the feet with which He is to go about doing good, and yours are the hands with which he is to bless us now.”
–Teresa of Avila
I can read this and think about how many men, women and children need help and need the Word, need hope. Or I can go out and do something today. I don’t know if I made it up in my head or am remembering it from somewhere, but reading Teresa of Avila’s words got me thinking, “I can’t do everything, but I can do something.” I am sure those are not original words by me but they move me from a position of paralysis when I think about all those in need.
What if today I just enabled one person smile? What if, today, I enabled one person say, “thank you, Lord”?
I just now got a text from my friend Bruce Huge with Jeremiah 24:7 –
“I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord.”
What will I do today to help someone know that truth? To give them heart?
