Our Wonder Room

Last Day

“The only way to live your last day as you would want to, is to live like that all the time.”
–Vaughan Garwood

Many are the times that I’ve wondered to myself how I would live this day differently if I knew it was my last. If I really approached today in that manner, what would I do different? What phone calls would I make? What emails would I send? Who would I go see? What prayers would I offer up? What actions or words would I apologize for? What regrets would I have? Sort of a different kind of bucket list.

Each day I have a chance to make a difference in the lives of others. As I look back on my questions above, if I really break them down, they are all about other people. I do not say that to boast, but more out of my own realization that even my own life isn’t about me. My life is about the work I do in the lives of others, for Him. May I truly embrace that each day. Every gift I have is from God that I might give it away to others, even my life and my time. Each day.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’”
–Matthew 25:35-36
