“It is the part of a Christian to take care of his own body for the very purpose that by its soundness and well-being he may be enabled to labor for the aid of those who are in want, that thus the stronger member may serve the weaker member.”
–Martin Luther
Oh, yeah, it’s not about me. It can be easy for me to look at my body and well-being and not be worried about its shape and condition. But Luther’s words this morning were a good reminder that God may have some plans for me at which I will fail miserably at if I don’t take care of myself. I just never know how he wants to use me. All of me, including my physical gifts. It is, after all, a package deal. If I don’t take care of my body then how can I be in a position to truly help others? Does this mean I have to eat my vegetables now?
