Do Something

“Even if it is a little thing, do something for those who have need of help, something for which you get no pay
but the privilege of doing it.”
— Dr. Albert Schweitzer, missionary and medical doctor

WOW! Talk about a quote to read on the first day of my real transition into a full-time substitute teacher (until I have my own classroom). Okay, so I hope to get some pay, but still, Schweitzer words ring so true for me. Even beyond the classroom though, it embraces the notion of going out into the world as Christ’s disciple. To love Christ is to serve his people, not so that I might gain salvation or earthly praise or recognition, but out of love for Him, thankful for His sacrifice.

Colossians 2:6-7: “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, 7rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”
