Last night I started reading Hebrews in bed. It is a book that I have not read often, yet hear references to scripture from it often. Stopped for the night at the end of Chapter 3 (hey, I was tired), but I found myself returning to one verse in particular:
Hebrews 2:11 – Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers.
Boy, is that wonderful news that these can never tire of hearing. Then, when I got to reading my devotions this morning there were these lyrics from a song that jumped out at me. The lyrics are from ‘Hands and Feet’ by Audio Adrenaline from the album ‘Hit Parade’:
I wanna be Your hands
I wanna be Your feet
I’ll go where You send me
What a way to look forward to a day. Knowing that I, being of Christ’s family, am His hands and feet. There is another song (for which I shall have to search for the lyrics and artist… unless one of you knows) that has the line something like: “if I am His feet, why aren’t these feet walking; if I am His hands, why aren’t these hands reaching out?” Good questions.
