Matthew 14:23 – After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray.
Hmm. When I first considered these two sentences together I thought of the prayer as the pause between the notes of life–my service to God. I am not sure that I quite like that analogy unless I embrace that it is prayer which helps me to “handle the notes” of life.
