Just something for you to chew on. Out of curiosity I went to m-w.com to see how the dictionary defined “miracle”. There were three definitions, two of which had “divine” in them. Here is the third: “an extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment”.

If I think about yesterday, the reality of the situation is that I lived to see another day on God’s great earth. But how many miracles had to happen in the background to make that reality?

How many attacks did my white blood cells fight off?
How many accidents did I just miss being in while I was driving, and didn’t even know?
Why did that possible new client call me?
Why did my trip to Haiti that would have happened just before the earthquake get cancelled? (not really, but it could happen)
How is it that I wake up each morning? For what purpose?

Each day miracles surround us. I have no reason, when before I go to sleep each night, not to be incredibly thankful to God.

I Thessalonians 5:18 – give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

I Peter 4:16 – However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.
